Grappling Industries Adelaide – August 29, 2015
Grappling Industries makes its debut in Adelaide, Australia on August 29 for a Sub Only Round Robin Gi and NoGi Tournament. The tournament is taking place at the Adelaide Indoor Sports Centre!
FORMAT / PROTOCOL:
The event will be round robin, gi and nogi.
There are kids, juniors, teens, adults, and masters divisions.
Kids, juniors, and teens divisions will follow IBJJF points and advantages rules along with which submissions are allowed and not allowed.
Adults and Masters Divisions will follow The Sub Only Format will try to get each fighter 4 fights each at 5 minutes a match. During the match, points and advantages will not be scored. If the match ends without a submission, the referee will then choose between calling the match a draw or a referee decision. A referee decision will be awarded to the competitor that was closest to finishing the match, if neither competitor came close to finishing the match by submission or both had an equal attempt of close finishing attacks then the match will result in a draw signaled by the referee. Very much like Metamoris when it used referee decisions back in the day.
Submissions will count for 4 points in the round robin, Referee Decisions will count for 2 points, and Draws will count for 1 point. Tie-Breakers will be settled with playoff matches.
There are 8 $300 Cash prizes available! They go to the winners of the following divisions which you must pre-register for ahead of time:
- Male White Belt Absolute
- Male Blue Belt Absolute
- Male Purple Belt Absolute
- Male Brown / Black Belt Absolute
