Grappling Industries makes its long awaited return to Montreal for a Sub Only Round Robin Gi and NoGi Tournament. The tournament is taking place IN A NEW VENUE at College Jean-de-Brebeuf on the 2nd floor in their NCAA basketball show court!
FORMAT / PROTOCOL:
The event will be round robin, gi and nogi.
There are kids, juniors, teens, adults, and masters divisions.
Kids, juniors, and teens divisions will follow IBJJF points and advantages rules along with which submissions are allowed and not allowed.
Adults and Masters Divisions will follow The Sub Only Format will try to get each fighter 4 fights each at 6 minutes a match. During the match, points and advantages will not be scored. If the match ends without a submission, the referee will then choose between calling the match a draw or a referee decision. A referee decision will be awarded to the competitor that was closest to finishing the match, if neither competitor came close to finishing the match by submission or both had an equal attempt of close finishing attacks then the match will result in a draw signaled by the referee.
Submissions will count for 4 points in the round robin, Referee Decisions will count for 2 points, and Draws will count for 1 point. Tie-Breakers will be settled with playoff matches.
The Super Absolute Division in Gi and NoGi are open to everyone who registers for them. These super absolute divisions will follow Black Belt/Advanced rules, will be 7 minutes a match, and will follow our Sub Only Format.
All the fights from the tournament will be recorded and uploaded a week later on our YouTube channel. There will also be a lot of sponsor giveaways and photographers will be on scene shooting the event! Absolutely beautiful gold, silver, and bronze medals for all divisions!

Montreal CHECK-INS & WEIGH-INS On The SUNDAY (Subject to change on schedule):
>7:30am to 8:45am deadline (All Gi and NoGi Kids and Teens / Adult Gi Absolutes)
>7:30am to 9:45am deadline (Gi Adult and Masters divisions)
>10am to 1:00pm tentative deadline (Adult and Masters NoGi Absolutes and divisions)
*You do not have to weigh-in with your gi on. You only need to weigh-in once if competing in several divisions.
NOTE: Please consult the schedule we release on the Friday night prior to the event. We cannot yet say for sure when the NoGi (Absolutes, Adults, and Masters) divisions will start until the schedule is created. Tentatively, we plan to start NoGi at 2pm with the weigh-ins closing at 1:00pm for them but this might be subject to change depending on if we surpass expectations.
-Kids and Teens Gi as well as the Adult Gi Absolutes will start at 9am followed by Kids and Teens NoGi.
-This will be followed by the Gi Adult and Master divisions.
-Once Gi is almost complete, we will kick off NoGi with the Absolutes followed by the remaining NoGi Adult and Master divisions.
SPECTATORS: Spectator tickets can be bought at the check-in table to our event, where event bracelets can be bought for $15 each. Kids and senior citizens can watch the event for free.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration closes Wednesday, June 24 at 11:59pm.

CHANGE/REFUND DEADLINE: You will have until 5pm on Thursday, June 25 to make any changes to your registration or to request a refund. You can do this by messaging us on the CONTACT TAB of our website. After this, we apologize but it is too late.
