1) Female White Belt Absolute
2) Female Blue Belt+ Absolute
3) Male White Belt Absolute
4) Male Blue Belt Absolute
5) Male Purple/Brown Absolute
If 500 competitors sign up for this event, we will DOUBLE the amount of grand prize trips from 5 to 10 by splitting all the Absolute divisions down the middle! THAT’S A CRAZY INCENTIVE FOR THE JIU-JITSU COMMUNITY TO COME TOGETHER ONCE MORE!
Everyone in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community sees the same issues with tournaments, sure they offer more and more prizes but that typically means that they will raise their registration fees.
Not only have we knocked off all association and membership fees so that you never have to pay them anymore, we are also dropping the price of Adult and Masters from $70 for 1 division and $90 for 2 divisions DOWN TO $55 for 1 division and $75 for 2 divisions. The price for Kids and Juniors will also be dropped from $50 for 1 division and $65 for to 2 divisions DOWN TO $40 for 1 division and $55 for 2 divisions! THAT’S THE LOWEST PRICES OUR TOURNAMENT HAS EVER BEEN!
The first big change will occur to the Kids and Juniors divisions. Kids and Juniors will now be split up in gi by white belt and colored belt. Kids and Juniors will as well be split up in NoGi by beginner and advanced.
The second big change will be the rule set now used in Kids and Juniors divisions. There will no submissions allowed for white belts and beginners in the Kids and Juniors divisions. Colored belts and advanced Kids and Juniors will be able to apply submissions according to the IBJJF rule book.
The third big change will occur in the weight divisions of Adults. Adult Gi weight classes will now follow IBJJF Gi weight classes and adult NoGi weight classes will now follow IBJJF’s NoGi weight classes so to sync the weights properly compared to have just one set weight class for Gi and NoGi.
The fourth big change because of the third change means that we will be also be transitioning over to weigh-ins before first fight wearing your attire be it Gi or shorts and a rash guard. That means before you’re first fight you will be called to the weigh-in station in your attire ready to weigh-in and then fight right away. If you are doing two divisions (Gi and NoGi) you will only be required to weigh-in once before your very first fight of the day due to you will have competed in several matches earlier in the day.
Our tournament is the only true round robin tournament on the circuit. Competitors at our event get more fights in our round robin format than any other tournament which can be undisputed as the average competitor usually gets 3 to 4 fights minimum at our events.
Our tournament is pre-registration only and is disputed over mats that are fully barricaded. Our events starts on time and ends on time. The staffing of our events is an important aspect to us so we make sure to get the best referees in the communities we promote events in so to assure that all matches are as fairly judged as possible. Many teams do not commit to events because of poor organization, slow turnover on mats, and uneducated staffs and referees coordinating the mats and matches so this is something we always made sure we had down as close to perfect as possible for a BJJ event to be.
We give away some of the biggest prizes and do so consistently. Grappling Industries is awarding 5 Grand Prize Trips, MAYBE 10, to the 2014 IBJJF Pans. We have beautiful, big, and in color Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals as well on August 17 will give all first and second place finishers past additional past medals of ours.
We are the only event trying to record the entire event for all it’s competitors free of charge, we believe this is something in the future can be a game changer in the industry as competitors absolutely love being able to see the work they put in. We thank you for sticking with us on believing that we would get this completely sorted out and to begin to excel at it, we believe all the event videos will be posted within 5-6 days after the event to our YouTube Channel and Website.
The truth is when signing up for a tournament is that you are supporting its vision. We have consistently evolved and that has led us to become a recognizable BJJ tournament brand throughout Canada and wisely recognized in the north east of the States. Grappling Industries aims to be the middlemen between grapplers everywhere. Our purpose is to put on the most organized, awarding, and experiencing round robin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission-Wrestling tournaments in the most professional and evolving manner.
